Pulse Cartography
This project is an innovative fusion of technology and art, designed to provide a captivating visualisation of the human heartbeat. Using a state-of-the-art heart sensor, the installation captures real-time pulse data from users who interact with the system by touching a sensor embedded in the wall. This biometric input is then seamlessly converted into an audio signal, which serves as the foundation for the visual display.
The core of the visualisation is driven by TouchDesigner, a powerful node-based software platform used for real-time interactive multimedia content. The software processes the audio input, translating the rhythmic variations of the heartbeat into dynamic, evolving visual forms. These visuals are rendered as an intricate interplay of forms, shapes, and patterns that pulse in harmony with the user’s heartbeat, creating a stunning, real-time representation of their inner rhythm.
In this interactive installation, your heartbeat is captured in real-time as you touch the sensor on the wall, transforming each pulse into a unique, dynamic piece of art. Watching your vital rhythm translates into a mesmerizing display of monochrome patterns, vividly illustrating the essence of your inner vitality.

This installation is an attempt to turns the abstract and often invisible concept of a heartbeat into a vivid, interactive visual experience. It transforms the ordinary act of touching a sensor into an artistic exploration of your own rhythm, making the use of body signals captivating.

The blend of technology and art offers a unique, engaging way to connect with your body’s inner workings, turning something as fundamental as a heartbeat into a dynamic and beautiful spectacle.
